At Verdicchio Restaurant & Wine Cellar, we are more than just a restaurant – we are the perfect pairing of Mediterranean cuisine and wine culture. Our name is inspired by the Verdicchio grape, a versatile white wine grape that is primarily grown in the charming Marche region of Italy, and the name Verdicchio stems from Verde (or “green”) and refers to the subtle green/yellow hue that wines produced from the Verdicchio grape may have.

We opened our doors when Montecasino originally opened in November 2000, and since then, we have been committed to providing our customers with a great dining experience. As soon as you enter Verdicchio Restaurant & Wine Cellar, you will be transported to a world of timeless elegance and delectable cuisine. From our delicious seafood platters to our famous Pasta Granada, our skilled chefs use only the freshest ingredients.

The Heart & Soul of Verdicchio
For 20 years, the owner Tubby, the man who started it all, dedicated his life to his passion for food and laughter. Even though he has sadly passed away, he left a strong legacy behind for all of us which we strive to achieve daily.
We take great pride in the fact that our team embodies the same level of dedication and enthusiasm that Tubby had, and that they share his goal of giving each and every one of our diners an unforgettable experience. The staff at Verdicchio are more than just employees – they are family. And we believe that this sense of family and community is what sets us apart and makes our restaurant truly special.

The Palazzo Montecasino is a five-star hotel that is a part of Montecasino, Fourways, Johannesburg. Since our restaurant is situated in the casino complex, it is quite convenient for our guests to enjoy access to the Verdicchio dining experience while staying at the Palazzo or visiting the casino.
